40+ Home Organisation Ideas

I have been so embarrassed this past week.  We’re doing a little moving around of furniture; putting a dresser in the kids’ room and moving their wardrobe into their closet to use it for the shelving.  Of course, in my grand way of doing things, I’ve moved everything from their room, their wardrobe, closet, dresser, the kitchen cupboard where some school supplies are kept, everything from the top of the other dressers, the kitchen counters, etc., etc., all into the living room.

What a mess!!!  My mother-in-law only saw the start of it all and she wasn’t impressed.  Then another friend stopped by this week and saw the ‘work in progress’.  It’s taking a while to sort through as we’ve been busy out of the house all week with a biodiversity summer school and village festival events.  The main things are done and the kids’ room is looking fine, but now we’re down to finding homes for all the little random bits and pieces.  I hope to finish up in the next couple of days…so I’ve had a lot of fun procrastinating and gathering ideas from last week’s Mom’s Library and I’ve rounded up some of my favourite home organisation ideas to feature this week.

  1. Thanks for featuring my Homeschool Room :)

  2. This information is so helpful for families! Pinning! You make it seem fun and possible to be organized. As a first grade teacher, I can tell which children are from organized homes and they do so much better in class if they have that support. Poor children who never have their library books on library day and therefore can’t get new books, for instance. Thanks so much for helping parents and children.

    • Teehee! I’m always in a state of organising…and I always have been. Maybe too many Mr. Sketch sniffing while making labels….?
I hope that some day my children will feel more organised than me. An early start with a nice routine and knowing where things are is a good start.
