Crystal's Tiny Treasures

While we were in Regina we visited the new activity room in the basement of Government House.  Phil had toured the Governor General’s official residence during our honeymoon.  Now that we have children we thought this would be fun for them on a windy Saskatchewan day.  They had lots of fun with the toys and equipment there and we will definitely be making a return visit the next time we are in Regina.

These flowers are from a project sheet they had there, and I figured if you have fresh flowers you need a vase to hold them in.

The first step is to draw around you hand.  Tristan is very good at doing this himself, but the younger girls needed a little help.

Next you cut the hand from the paper.

Kallista had some scissor practice as well

Take a drinking straw and tape the base of the hand around the straw.

Curl the fingers/petals back a little for more definition.  Your flower is complete!

For the vase simply colour an empty toilet paper roll as you desire.

Tristan used gold paint while Kallista used toddler markers for hers.

Once everything has dried, place your flowers into your vase and enjoy your bouquet.
