There are only a couple of things you will need for your Valentine’s Day tissue paper heart wreath:

Cardboard (the back of a cereal box will work just fine), paint, glue and scissors.

Cut a heart from the cardboard.  I cut the inside out of Tristan’s heart to make a wreath and used the inside piece for Kallista.

The children chose the colour of paint they wanted to use.  On this occasion they chose a sparkly mauve paint.

They happily painted away until the front of their heart was covered.  This was enough for a 1.5 year old Kallista.

When the paint had dried Tristan hopped back up to the table and chose the colours of tissue paper he preferred for his tissue paper heart wreath.

Tristan cut the paper into strips first and then into squares.

Then it’s time to choose a square of tissue paper and crumple it into a little ball.

Then Tristan put some glue onto the tissue paper heart wreath and gently press your crumpled square of tissue paper into the glue.

Continue until the wreath has been covered and let your tissue paper heart wreath dry.
